Types and Characteristics

  • Flat Belt Pulleys: These pulleys use flat belts for transmission. They are commonly used in low-power, high-speed applications such as textile machinery, paper machines, and office equipment (e.g., computer printers).
  • V-Belt Pulleys: These pulleys use V-belts, which have a V-shaped cross-section that fits into the corresponding groove on the pulley. V-belts provide better friction and load-carrying capacity than flat belts, making them suitable for higher-power applications.
  • Synchronous Belt Pulleys: These pulleys use synchronous belts, which have teeth on both sides that mesh with the teeth on the pulley. Synchronous belts provide precise timing and synchronization, making them ideal for applications requiring accurate control of speed and position.
