Safety Features

1.Overload Protection

One of the most critical safety features is the overload protection system. This mechanism continuously monitors the load being lifted and automatically stops the hoist if the weight exceeds its rated capacity. By preventing overloading, it safeguards the hoist from damage, reduces the risk of accidents such as chain breakage or structural failure, and ensures the longevity of the equipment.

2.Limit Switches

Limit switches are installed to control the upper and lower travel limits of the hoist. When the load reaches the pre - set upper or lower position, the limit switches are activated, cutting off the power to the motor and preventing the hoist from over - traveling. This feature protects the hoist from collision damage, avoids entanglement of the chain, and ensures smooth and safe operation.

3.Emergency Stop Button

An easily accessible emergency stop button is provided on the hoist control pendant or the hoist itself. In case of any unexpected situation, such as a sudden load shift or an operator in danger, pressing the emergency stop button immediately halts the hoist's operation, allowing for quick response and minimizing the potential for accidents.

4.Thermal Overload Relay

The thermal overload relay is designed to protect the motor from overheating. During prolonged or heavy - duty operation, the motor may generate excessive heat. The thermal overload relay senses this increase in temperature and interrupts the electrical supply to the motor if it exceeds a safe level. This prevents motor burnout and extends the service life of the hoist.

5.Chain Lubrication and Inspection

Some low clearance electric chain hoists are equipped with automatic chain lubrication systems. These systems ensure that the chain is properly lubricated during operation, reducing friction and wear. Additionally, the hoist design often allows for easy inspection of the chain, enabling operators to detect any signs of damage or wear early on and take appropriate action.
