Cast Belt Pulley for Crusher's Design

1 Groove Design
The groove on the belt pulley is designed to match the cross - sectional shape of the belt used in the crusher's power transmission system. Common groove shapes include V - grooves, flat grooves, and multi - ribbed grooves. V - grooves are widely used as they provide good frictional grip on the belt, preventing slippage and ensuring efficient power transfer. The angle and depth of the V - groove are carefully designed to optimize the belt - pulley contact and minimize wear.
2 Hub Design
The hub of the pulley is the central part that is mounted on the shaft of the crusher. It is designed to withstand the torque transmitted from the belt and transfer it to the shaft. The hub may have keyways or splines to ensure a secure connection between the pulley and the shaft, preventing relative rotation. The size and shape of the hub are determined by the torque requirements and the shaft diameter of the crusher.
3 Balancing
To ensure smooth operation and reduce vibration, cast belt pulleys are often balanced during the manufacturing process. Imbalances in the pulley can cause excessive vibration, which can lead to premature wear of the belt, bearings, and other components of the crusher. Balancing can be achieved by adding or removing material from specific locations on the pulley to distribute the mass evenly around its axis of rotation.
